Excessive heat is defined as a school day when the temperature exceeds 94*F.

Children will be encouraged to:

• Drink plenty of water
• Wear hats when outside
• Play quiet games or read a book in the library during recess and lunch recess
• Physical education classes will be modified

On school days when temps exceed 100*F, all NSD schools will implement their inclement weather schedules. Students will:

• Eat lunch indoors
• Encouraged to drink plenty of water
• Recess, lunch recess and physical education classes will be indoors
