    Below are some of the resources students can access.
     

    The Benchmark Education logo features a colorful abstract design with a star and the company name.Benchmark Universe:  Students can access digital versions of their text books, teacher assigned online assignments and more.

     

     

     

     

    A friendly robot with big blue eyes and a cheerful expression.Refered to as RAZ Kids, this online reading practice program is available to students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

    There are resources from the California State Library that students can access.  Within these resources, students read books, explore an online encylopedia, and discover in National Geographic Kids.

Sight Words

Students in kindergarten and first grade learn 100 sight words as part of their language arts program.  We also have a list of recommended second grade words.  The video links below support practicing the sight words at home.  Students watch and listen to the teacher showing and saying the words.  When the teacher says "Your turn", students say the word.

Phonics Practice

The Newhall School District's core language arts program is Benchmark Advance.  The links below are activities to practice letters and sound blends through video and interactive games.  

Students will need to be logged into Clever in order to access the links below.   Contact your child's teacher if you need your child's NSD Google account information.
