At Newhall Elementary School District, our work is driven by the goals outlined in a three-year strategic planning document called the LCAP, Local Control Accountability Plan. The LCAP is an important part of California's Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), established in 2014. The LCAP describes how school districts intend to meet annual goals for all students, with specific activities to address state and local priorities.
Eight State Priority Areas – The eight areas for which school districts, with parent and community input, must establish goals and actions
School surveys, Teacher and Staff Input meetings, School Site Council meetings, Parent Advisory Council meetings, and Parent Input meetings have provided opportunities for input regarding the Eight Priorities. The District is tasked with collecting educational partner input, identifying priorities for inclusion in the plan, and approving an annual budget to support the plan. The process has been developed to ensure multiple opportunities for parents, staff, students, and community members to provide feedback on the plan. After receiving input from educational partners, creating a draft, and holding a public hearing, a LCAP will be presented to the Newhall Board of Trustees for final approval.
The Newhall School District invites all parents, guardians, staff, and community members to review and provide feedback on the 2025–2026 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Draft. This important document outlines how the District plans to allocate resources to support student achievement and well-being during the upcoming school year, as required by the state of California.
Our plan reflects our continued commitment to student success through the following key goals:
