For over 40 years, the Newhall School District has been committed to providing all students with an education in music.
The Music Makers Parent Teacher Organization (MMPTA) strives to support the music program. Parents from across the distirct are invited to join.
President: Runs all PTA EBoard and General Association meetings. Oversees all PTA events (3 sets of concerts). The official contact of the PTA, coordinates the work and oversees the executive board, and is an authorized signer for PTA checks.
VP and Spirit Wear Coordinator: Supports the president, handles spirit wear sales both at concerts and online, and serves as an authorized signer for PTA checks.
Secretary: Records and presents minutes at all meetings.
Treasurer: Collaborates with the board to create an annual budget that forecasts income and expenses. Receive and disburse funds ensuring money is safe before and during events. Maintain detailed financial records, present financial reports at meetings, bank the proceeds from events and fundraisers, and reconcile monthly bank statements. File taxes annually and be aware of due dates for financial transactions. Prepare accounts for BiAnnual audits. Is an authorized signer for PTA checks.
Financial Reviewer: Reviews PTAs financial records twice a year to ensure that funds are handled properly. Ensure that funds are collected and spent as approved by the membership. Noting any inconsistencies or errors in the financial records. Present reports on the audit to the PTA board and association.
Parliamentarian: Reviewing unit bylaws annually and revise them every 3 years. Arranging the nominating committee. Assist in the elections of the new board.
Volunteer Coordinator: Coordinates volunteers for each of the 3 sets of concerts.
School Representatives: Represents school site, updates school PTA with upcoming concerts. Collects donations from the school site to be counted and deposited.
