Parent Emergency Information March 2025
Every emergency situation is different, but the safety of the children is always our first priority. Below is a description of some of the different types of releases that we may use. Regardless of the release location we will generally follow the same guidelines. Please read the following carefully because when parents know the procedures, they will be better prepared to help keep their children calm and safe. It is always valuable to review this information with your children. We train our students to follow safety procedures and your support is much appreciated.
1. Outdoor Release Procedures
- Please come to school with a picture I.D.
Adults picking up students must show a picture ID, students will be released to people you have listed on your emergency card. Make certain to update your card if work or contact information has changed.
- Be prepared to wait, be patient, remain calm, and maintain an orderly line
The safety of children is our first priority. Please expect the careful release of the entire school is a slow process. Please be patient and remain calm. Students will be watching you and they will follow your example.
- Go directly to the gate at the front of the school and wait for your turn
Please form two lines at the front gate (the one that 1st through 6th grade students enter each morning). The lines will continue near the block fence that separates the school from the homeowner park. The line on the left is for last names that begin with A - M, the line on the right is for last names that begin with N - Z. When you arrive at the front of the line, a staff member will get your child and bring him/her to you. Parents will not be allowed on campus. This will seem like an eternity as you are desperate to connect with your loved ones. Please be patient with our process.
- Changes
It is very important that you update your emergency card when information changes. Changes can be new phone numbers or additional adults who you trust to pick up your children. Please keep your cards current for the safety of your children. All changes can be made via Aeries.
2. Off-Campus Release
- If we have to be evacuated from the site, buses will be sent to our school to relocate our students. The location of the evacuation will be determined at that time depending on the nature of the emergency.
- Parents will be notified as soon as that location is determined.
