•  Mrs. Maxwell   Mrs. Maxwell – Principal    

    Mrs. Maxwell enters her fourth year as principal at Oak Hills Elementary School. She started her career in LAUSD as a kindergarten teacher in 1996. She spent 18 years in the Sulphur Springs Union School District where she was a teacher of 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades. As an administrator in Sulphur Springs, she served as an assistant principal, program administrator for the (ASES) afterschool program, and was on a special assignment as a Categorical/Curriculum director position at the district office.

    She then made a move to the Newhall School District where she served as an assistant principal for a year and a half.  She played volleyball collegiately at California State University, Los Angeles and also coached volleyball for over 20 years at the junior club and college level. She received her Masters in Education and teaching credential from Pepperdine University as well as her administrative credential from the University of La Verne.

    Mrs. Maxwell instills the philosophy of what is best for kids in all that she does.  Nothing brings her more joy than spending time in the classroom and out of the playground with them. She also loves spending time with her family, especially watching her son and daughter compete in their sports competitions. She loves camping at the beach, playing volleyball, and supporting her favorite basketball team the San Antonio Spurs and football team the Los Angeles Rams. 

    Mrs. Johnson Mrs. Johnson – Assistant Principal

    Mrs. Johnson has worked for Newhall School District since 2005.  She is very excited to serve the Oak Hills and Valencia Valley communities.  Mrs. Johnson has served as an administrator since 2006 where she most recently served as the Coordinator for Special Programs, Testing and Evaluation at the District Office.  

    Mrs. Johnson believes that building strong relationships and strong community is vital to our success.  She believes in a growth mindset where we understand the importance of mistakes to grow our collective capacity.  Mrs. Johnson also believes that humor can ground all of us in our important work. 

    While not at school, Mrs. Johnson is passionate about cooking in order to bring people to a shared table.  She also loves reading, nature, and off-roading with her husband and friends!
